Trump Orders National Guard to Combat LA Unrest Over Immigration Raids

United States: The White House has made a decisive pivot, activating the National Guard to counter the tumultuous street uprisings engulfing sections of Los Angeles.

Spiraling unrest has given way to targeted assaults on officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal enforcers, according to a recent bulletin on X.

President Trump voiced his censure through Truth Social, lambasting California’s governance for what he termed a systemic failure in safeguarding public peace.

Roughly 2,000 National Guard personnel have been deployed across strategic sectors of the city, White House sources disclosed.

“In recent hours, belligerent collectives have unleashed force against ICE operatives and federal personnel engaged in core deportation protocols across Los Angeles. These actions are vital in resisting the unlawful incursion of foreign malefactors into American borders. In light of this hostility, California’s apathetic Democrat administration has relinquished its duty to uphold civil protection,” stated Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary.

On Saturday, ICE relayed via X that immigration enforcement efforts will not be halted by the chaos. The agency underscored its resolve to continue operations amid civil strife.

“Our field agents continue steadfast execution of immigration statutes throughout LA, notwithstanding the aggressive demonstrators. Recent enforcement sweeps culminated in 118 detentions, among them five known affiliates of criminal syndicates and a multitude of offenders with serious records,”

ICE’s post revealed.

Additional footage shared by ICE depicted scorched municipal properties and defaced infrastructure. One image portrayed explicit threats and graffiti-drenched public walkways, pelted with debris flung at federal agents during the turmoil of June 6, according to wgme.com.

The Full Statement by the White House –

“In recent days, violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California. These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. In the wake of this violence, California’s feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens. That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester. The Trump Administration has a zero tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence, especially when that violence is aimed at law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs. These criminals will be arrested and swiftly brought to justice. The Commander-in-Chief will ensure the laws of the United States are executed fully and completely.”
